SKYWAN is a highly flexible and versatile MF-TDMA VSAT system for establishing wide area corporate networks while providing IP, Frame Relay, and voice connectivity. It enables mobile and transportable applications with the smallest antennas and highest performance. SKYWAN provides instant bandwidth-on-demand through its fully dynamic bandwidth allocation scheme. The system is capable of sending traffic bursts of 64 Kbit/s up to 20 Mbit/s per site and enables high speed, hub-less communication between remote sites. Any station can be reached via a single satellite hop connection supporting fully meshed network topologies.

The SKYWAN 2570 is the right choice when the customer requires only specific functionality or wants to save on rack space. It can use the full range of ODU options to support disadvantaged locations or higher return channel data rates. The SKYWAN 2570 interacts with the RFT 5000 series.

The SKYWAN 1070 is a recent addition to the ND SatCom SKYWAN product family, providing a compact and cost-efficient remote terminal. It is fully compatible with the existing SKYWAN 7000 terminal series and supports multiple IP interfaces. A dedicated IP interface is available for management traffic only to further enhance security. The SKYWAN 1070 terminal is available with various built-in AC and DC options to power a wide range of ODU units.

The SKYWAN 1070 provides optimized IP networking capabilities in various network topologies and is ideally suited to support enterprise and governmental network applications where performance and size is key. Customers for Defense, Energy, GSM Backhaul, Media, Maritime and Disaster Recovery applications will benefit from its flexibility and scalability.

The SKYWAN FAD 9220 and FAD 9230 Integrated Access Routers provide superior convergence capabilities together with maximized network performance. With its adaptation to the ND SatCom SKYWAN broadband VSAT system highest bandwidth efficiency for voice, data and video transmission is achieved. This combination defines state-of-the-art communications in mission critical environments.
Depending on site and application requirements, two FAD models are available.

 

Its compression and multiplexing technology together with its prioritization capabilities make FAD the product of choice for satellite networks running converged voice and data applications in Air Traffic Control, Oil & Gas, Government, Military and Enterprise networks. It also allows seamless integration of terrestrial and satellite infrastructure into one unified network topology reducing cost and minimizing complexity.
A complete set of analog and digital voice interfaces together with an unmatched support of signaling protocols enable flawless interconnectivity even with legacy PBX systems.
IP services like OSPF or RIP routing, bridging and VLAN support, together with a wide range of supported synchronous and asynchronous serial data services complement the FAD capabilities to be used as an all-purpose multi-service integrated access router.

The SKYWAN family of Frame Relay Access Devices is complemented by the SKYWAN FAD 8400, a device which supports serial ports only. The FAD 8400 enables enterprises and service providers to incrementally scale their network infrastructure as requirements for additional serial ports increase. It can be used stand-alone or to extend the three serial ports of the FAD 9220/9230.

The number of serial ports can be increased to whatever levels because multiple devices can be chained together. Since the FAD 8400 is an IP device with multiple connectivity options, it easily integrates into any network.

The FAD 8400 can handle framed serial traffic or support transport circuit emulation and then send the resulting data over SKYWAN networks. It supports the leading LAN and WAN interface protocols including Frame Relay, HDLC, PPP and Power Cell.

The FAD 8400 is available in two options:

The Ka2Go terminal is the most reliable and advanced vehicle-mounted antenna system within ND SatCom’s Ka-band antenna family for mobile VSAT. It is designed to fulfill the most demanding broadcasting needs within the Ka-band market.The Ka2Go terminal is based on a proven lightweight and robust design with a patented motorized positioner and an Automatic Pointing System to any satellite. This terminal supports the KA-SAT modem family and is an ideal solution for the EUTELSAT NewsSpotter service.

This streamlined aerodynamic terminal has small dimensions allowing it to be mounted on any passenger vehicle. Ka2Go can be considered a “plug and play” terminal as it becomes operational by pressing only one button. The antenna consists of a high precision offset Ka-band reflector, GPS receiver, compass-enabling automatic pointing and automatic network acquisition. In addition to the antenna, the terminal integrates a KA-SAT modem, IP router and antenna controller.

RANGER Series
RANGER Series
The ND SatCom Ranger family of terminals offers the most versatile, easily deployable and operator-friendly access available for star, mesh or hybrid satellite networks. Readily configurable for C-, X-, Ku- or Ka-Band space segments, Ranger terminals are fully compatible with SKYWAN networks, as well as conventional SCPC and IP-based networks.

This innovative, modular antenna design incorporates carbon fiber and SMC reflectors from 1.0m to 2.4m in diameter. It has been engineered to ensure ease of use, superior performance and reliability in harsh environments. Optional motorization and tracking is available via modular “add-on” kits to meet DSCS and/or inclined orbit applications and/or to provide auto-acquisition capability.

Operational frequency band is defined by the integrated feed and electronics package. Common IFL interfaces provide an easy means for changing bands by simply exchanging feed booms.

ND SatCom offers a range of Ku-Band and DBS Band HPAs, which can be delivered either as Indoor or Outdoor versions. In addition to these mainly in a commercial environment used HPAs, 500W Tri-Band (C/X/Ku) outdoor units are offered. Optionally the majority of the models are offered with an integrated BUC (block up-converter) and/or with a Linearizer. This range of high quality, “Made in Germany”, products nicely fit into Systems like TV-Uplinks, HUB Stations, Anchor Station as well as SNG vehicles and other transportable Earth Stations. Our portfolio for the TWT amplifiers also include Front Panel Controllers, Standardized Redundancy set-ups like 1+1 / 2+1 and 3+1, Customized Redundancy set-ups and n+1 redundant systems including filter/combiner networks.
