Fixed Satellite Ground Terminals

Typically large fixed satellite ground stations serve as ancor stations for wide area satellite communications between the nations territory and the transportable terminals in the out-of-area deployment regions. They are used as teleports for multiple services including: voice, video, data, fax and multimedia applications. Their multiband capabilities allow operations in all common frequency ranges such as: C-, X-, Ku- and Ka-band. Most commercial and defence satellites can therefore be utilized.

ND SatCom provides fixed ground terminals as turn key solutions. Examples of these are the ancor stations supplied by ND SatCom for the German and Dutch Milsatcom programs.

Such ground terminals usually consist of:
  •
  • One or several Antenna Front Ends
  •
  • A central operating building housing the modems and the baseband equipment
  •
  • A Monitoring & Control System allowing central control of all outdoor and indoor equipment
