SKYWAN 5G transmits traffic with dynamic data rates from few bits/s up to 100 Mbit/s per site enabling high speed, hub-less communication between all sites. Any site is reached via a single AES-256 encrypted satellite hop in fully meshed network topologies. Emergency services such as the police, fire brigade or homeland security set up a working SKYWAN communications environment swiftly to transmit video footage easily in highest quality. With SKYWAN 5G terminals COTM transmissions continue running thanks to its ultra-fast link re-acquisition far ahead of other solutions.
SKYWAN 5G uses ACM for SCPC links, star or fully meshed networks. SKYWAN 5G is the world’s only VSAT technology allowing multi-channel TDMA networks with True-Mesh ACM for hubless secure communication. SKYWAN with ACM is synonym for single-hop mesh for highest link reliability regardless of weather. With DVB-S2 a mix of transmission technologies (MF-TDMA plus DVB-S2) opens the sky to get more throughput and new kinds of applications without any central hub or traffic bottlenecks.
Flexibility is the decision criterion for SKYWAN 5G. Each remote may become TDMA network controller, or allows DVB-S2 transmissions to/from every node or even scale performance like a hub with the cascading option. Multiple backup devices increase the node availability even for cascaded nodes. When needed, reconfigure a SKYWAN router to SCPC (Point-2-Point) mode and exclusively and efficiently use the full link capacity. SKYWAN 5G is the All-IP platform covering from cellular networks to service provider networks, governmental and military networks. The virtual routing functions (VRF) and trunking capabilities serve multiple customers per terminal and delivers highest throughput and transmission security. Payload compression for TCP/UDP/IP and GTP as used in mobile network access nodes in combination with the efficient dynamic bandwidth assignment further boosts data throughput in full meshed single-hop hub-less topologies.
Manage your mission critical networks invoking your preferred browser with NMS to modify easily parameters in live networks. Transactions orchestrate network wide parameter rollouts or allow to undo parameter modifications in the network. Operators use HTTPS based GUIs while experts use the secure command line interface for additional tool integration. Backup NMS appliances may be hosted anywhere. With NMS you diminish impact from cyber threats by activating security and stability patches whenever you want while saving scarce bandwidth with the smart and secure “over-the-air” update mechanism.
As soon as your SKYWAN 5G network is operational, NMS is not required anymore - all traffic prioritisation for real-time or best effort traffic as supported by QoS mechanisms, load balancing, or beam switching is implemented in each node.
SKYWAN 5G technology is available as scalable 1U indoor or ruggedized outdoor unit. It is integrated in the ManPack SPT 600M terminal or is used as the modem of choice integrated into lightweight manpack or flyaway mesh capable COTP terminals or packaged with on-the-move antennas for land- or sea-mobile COTM solutions.
